Scuba Dive and Snorkel Trip
Gadi, the owner of the Bocas Dive Center, is a close friend of Nayara Bocas del Toro. He and his wife Janet have supported us since we set foot in Bocas del Toro. Gadi’s story, as told on Bocas Dive Center’s website, is an inspiration, so we’ve included it here:
“Gadi loved scuba diving from the moment he first walked into the Red Sea. He became a Scuba Instructor, and years later, his three daughters also learned to scuba dive. They all inherited his passion for the underwater world and enjoyed diving in the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans. Then one year, he accompanied his youngest daughter and her friends on a scuba diving trip to Bocas del Toro.
The first thing Gadi loved about the archipelago was the Bocas vibe. After a lifetime of working long, hard hours in a fast-paced, challenging business, he’d found a place where he could feel at peace both below and above the water.
During the following years, he and his family returned often to this charming part of the Caribbean. They loved Bocas with its easy logistics, simple access, tranquil weather, and unique culture.
Gadi decided to help build the Bocas Dive Center into a world-class five-star Professional Dive Academy. He spearheaded renovations, brought in top instructors from around the globe, and bought new equipment. He built specially-designed boats for the distinct conditions of the Bocas del Toro archipelago.”
The archipelago of Bocas del Toro is set in the crystal-clear Caribbean Sea dotted with coral gardens and a stunning variety of tropical fish. It would take you months to explore all of the dive sites here. Some of the most popular are:
- Hospital Point
- Coral Garden/Grandma’s Garden
- The Wreck
- Zapatilla Cay
- Tiger Rock Bocas
- The Buoy Line
- Marker 19
- The Log
- Manuel’s Wall
- Mangrove Point
- Punta Caracol (Seashell Point)
- The Airport/Whorehouse
- Bird Island (Swan Cay)
The deepest dives are 114 and 110 feet at Manuel’s Wall and Tiger Rock respectively.
